I actually started by eating some soba. The ordering system for this place is weird. You have to place your order on this vending machine thingamajig and then you just pick up your food with your receipt.
Then I walked around Shinjuku for some sightseeing. I went to the Tokyo Metropolitan Governement Building (Tochosha), which is the tallest building in Tokyo at 248 meters (814 feet). The view is awesome from the top.
I believe this "Cacoon" bldg is still under construction.
On my way to Roppongi, I stopped by the Takashimaya Times Square to do some quick shopping. When I got to Roppongi, I was thinking about going to the top of the Mori Tower. But I already saw all of Tokyo from the Tochosha, so I didn't go up. People tell me I should have definitely gone up... maybe next time.
Now here comes the f'd up part of my day. So I'm pretty much finished with my 3SK agenda here in Tokyo and I figure I had some time to spare. I thought, "hey... why don't I walk from Roppongi all the way to Shibuya and feel out the city/culture even more..." and that's exactly what happened. I hadn't realized how far it actually was until I was about half way into the journey. My legs were super tired from all the walking earlier in the day and now they were pretty much dead. But that's not the bad part yet. When I was about a few blocks away from Shibuya Station, it started pouring rain out of nowhere. My idiot ass left my umbrella at the hotel, so I took shelter outside this office building. I was so close, yet so far (from Shibuya Station). It was pouring so hard that there's no way I could have made it to the station without getting super drenched. So I waited and hoped that the rain would calm down. Finally, after about 30 minutes, the rain stopped.
When I got to Shibuya, I was hungry and tired. So I bought a grip of sashimi and sushi from the Tokyu Food Show (it's like a farmer's market) and took it back to the hotel to enjoy. This wasabi dressing I bought was freaking delicious. The sashimi and sushi were great, but the fish eggs were a little too salty for my taste buds.
### End Day 4 ###
haha!
