Final Shoot for the Cannabis Club Music Video

Today was the final video shoot for the 3Strykes "Cannabis Club" music video. The script was changed several times due to some unforeseen circumstances, so the final storyline is not exactly how we wanted... but hopefully it will come out well =)

Heart

Grabbed a drink w/an old friend earlier today. This guy is the dopest artist I know, hands down. Hopefully, we'll be seeing some fresh artwork for 3SK.

Somehow, we got into one of those discussions that tend to end with some kind of life philosophy. He made a comment that sort of stuck w/me: all decisions are made either with mind or heart, and without a strong heart, we will never succeed in life. The mind is the side of reason and logic, while the heart is a deeper consciousness that includes spirit and soul. It made sense at the time we were talking about it... but now that I'm trying to put it into writing, I'm not sure exactly what we were even talking about? haha...

Last Day in Asia

I met up with another one of my cousins at Lau Pa Sat for some Hainan Chicken and did some sightseeing and shopping throughout the day.

Fullerton in Singapore... who'd have thought...

"Repping Fully to the Fullest"

The Merlion (half mermaid, half lion).

Future casinos.

Fountain of Wealth (largest fountain in the world).

In the evening, Alex's homie Mervin was nice enough to treat me to dinner and take me to a Chinese club called Lunar in Clarke Quay. Although I'm Chinese, I've actually never been to a Chinese club and it was kinda weird. For starters, nobody really dances at a Chinese club. A house band that does covers of Chinese songs will play for ~30min and then trance music will come on with go go dancers for ~15min. They keep switching between the band and the dancers the whole night... haha... not really my thing. But the club was real nice, and interesting.

Today was the last day of my Asia trip. It has definitely been an eye-opening experience. I would have to say that I'm a bit disappointed about the lack of hip hop in this region. But it seems to be a growing genre out here, so let's hope for the best. In retrospect, I'm gonna be a dick and rate each city in the following categories (from best to worst).

Food:
Taipei
Tokyo
Seoul
Singapore
Kuala Lumpur

Cleanliness:
Singapore
Tokyo
Taipei
Seoul
Kuala Lumpur

Politeness:
Tokyo
Singapore
Taipei
Kuala Lumpur
Seoul

Public Transportation:
Tokyo
Taipei
Seoul
Singapore
Kuala Lumpur

Hip Hop:
Tokyo
Taipei
Seoul
Singapore
Kuala Lumpur

Girls:
Tokyo
Singapore
Seoul
Taipei
Kuala Lumpur

Shopping:
Tokyo
Taipei
Seoul
Singapore
Kuala Lumpur

I was only in each city less than a week, so my ratings aren't all that accurate... haha. To be honest, all the cities I visited were actually quite similar. The only noticeable differences were the language and food. It's been fun and a somewhat productive trip. I'm leaving in a few hours... pretty excited to go home. At the same time, I definitely want to come back real soon.

Singapore

Got back to Singapore around 1pm and checked in at the Holiday Inn Atrium. Strolled around Orchard Road most of the day. At night, I met with the crew from The Butter Factory. They just threw an event on a floating platform along the river with over 3,000 attendees. Celeste and Yen were nice enough to give me the 411 on Singapore's hip hop scene. Very good people. Hopefully they'll help set something up w/3SK for summer 2009.

A box of cigarettes cost ~$10 USD in Singapore. And look at what they have printed on every cigarette box... crazy shiz.

Malaysia - Day 2

We went to the Batu Caves in the morning. My cousins and I went on the Dark Cave educational tour. I saw more insects than I really wanted to and got crapped on by a bat... but it was interesting... haha.

That's a pretty big pipe...

Ate some Yong Tau Foo for lunch and then my lil cousins forced me to watch Mama Mia with them... Then I had another city night tour w/my uncle.

Chinatown's Petaling Street... more like Bootleg Street!
