Peace in the Far East

So it's already day 3 of my Japan trip, and today's destination is Harajuku. Pretty much the same routine, just different day, different location. There aren't actually too many record shops in Harajuku. But there are a lot of hip hop clothing stores. I took some time to talk to the workers and owners of the shops to find out a little more about the local hip hop scene, but the language barrier definitely made it very difficult.

Just like in the states, there are guys playing music on the streets. Like this guy in front of Shinjuku Station.

Right in front of Harajuku Station is the Meiji Shrine. I wanted to take a look, but figured I wouldn't have time. I just took some pix at the entrance. Maybe I'll get some time to check it out tomorrow.

There are a bunch of Harajuku girls outside of the station as well. They're the ones infamous for extreme fashion and makeup. I didn't take any pix cuz they kept ducking my camera... you know they like the attention tho. I did manage to snap a vid of this weird doll. It's looks like a real flimsy rubber doll that's not attached to anything and it moves on your verbal command. This boy was shouting the commands and the doll was doing exactly what he said. I feel like I've seen this in the states somewhere before, but don't remember exactly. I have no idea how they were doing this.

It got kind of dark after 5pm and I was looking for the Bape store. I spent literally an hour trying to find it and I had to ask two guys before I finally found it. After all the hype I've heard about the store though, I wasn't too impressed. But I could tell that they custom-built everything and spent some $$$. Their products are dope.

I had dinner at this little stand called Doner Kebob. It would be a easy franchise for the states.

I haven't been in Asia for so long that I forgot how humid it is here. After walking around for 3 days, I am now reminded. I'm sorry to say that today was not so productive. But at least I copped myself some Stan Smith's and met a hot chicka =P

I'm rich b*tch!
